Human Services Outcomes, Inc.
HSO
For some people, disability, disease or injury seriously disrupts life functioning. Rehabilitation consultants are trained and experienced in helping people live more satisfactorily in spite of physical or mental limitations. They help individuals and their families directly, or they may provide expert consultation to third parties such as attorneys or community agencies.
Rehabilitation consultants have formal education in professional disciplines such as rehabilitation counseling, vocational evaluation, vocational counseling, therapeutic counseling, nursing, rehabilitation psychology, or medical areas. They may also have training and experience in subspecialties such as life care planning, gerontology, brain injury, substance abuse, or psychiatric rehabilitation. Some rehabilitation consultants have extensive backgrounds in career, vocational, and educational counseling. Such consultants may assist both disabled and non-disabled clients.
Since rehabilitation consultants have primary professional specialties, they usually have advanced academic degrees, experience in working with persons who have disabilities, plus licensure and/or national certifications in their specialty or subspecialty areas. All rehabilitation consultants who work for Human Services Outcomes, Inc. have master's or doctoral degrees, or other training as required by their professional specialty, and extensive experience in their fields.
